Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Ever since I was a young girl I have loved everything about it. Most of all, I have always loved the time with family that it provides. Some of my fondest memories include rolling hard boiled eggs down the mountain with my siblings and trying to plant jelly beans so they would turn into lolly-pops. The activities you do to celebrate Easter with your kids can make or break their feelings about the whole holiday. I’ve included some of my favorite Easter activities for kids.

Holy Week Countdown
One special way that our family celebrates Easter is by marking each day of Holy Week in a countdown-esq way. We take a moment each day to dwell on the significance of Holy Week. Each day of Holy Week is sacred in some way. For example, we make hot cross buns every Good Friday. It’s a simple tradition, but helps us remember the reason we celebrate Easter.

Each year on Good Friday, my little family makes hot cross buns. We never follow the same recipe, but they are always delicious!
Make Resurrection Rolls
Making resurrection rolls blends baking, storytelling, and Easter’s meaningful narrative. Wrap marshmallows in dough, symbolizing the tomb and resurrection. A heartfelt, delicious lesson unfolds. These are honestly the easiest rolls to make. Simply thaw some frozen rolls, coat a marshmallow in butter and cinnamon sugar, then wrap the roll dough around the marshmallow. Roll the whole thing in butter and cinnamon sugar as well. Then cook according to the roll directions! Easy peasy! When the rolls come out, the marshmallows have melted and created an “empty tomb” that represents the empty tomb on Easter!
